Client
“Since purchasing the Witney site via Carter Jonas and re-instructing them as joint agent we have found their personal and proactive approach to be refreshing. The team have used their market knowledge and experience to secure key pre-lets on our first phase and help guide our development proposals for the next phases. As a sign of a good working relationship, they have introduced a new site to us, which we have now purchased and is working hard on a number of pre-lets.”

Development Director, Tungsten Properties
“The Carter Jonas team have made a material difference to the performance of Silverstone Park over the last three years. They have exceeded expectations, helping to achieve over 200,000 sq ft of industrial lettings in the last 12 months. They have worked hard on negotiations, with both new and existing occupiers, and responded to numerous viewing requests. They are an important
part of the Silverstone Park team.”

Our vision for sustainability is to adopt business strategies and activities that meet the needs of Carter Jonas while protecting, sustaining, and enhancing human and natural resources now and for future generations. Since 1855 our people have worked with the natural environment to create more sustainable outcomes for the property and landowners that we have served and within the communities that we work. There are three key elements through which we manage our commitments to sustainability:
We are proud members of the UK Green Building Council and have achieved both the Gold Accreditation as an Investor in People and also the Good Practise Award in recognition of our wider commitments to Health and Wellbeing. Harwell Campus is a leading science, innovation, technology, and business campus, located just south of Oxford. The Campus boasts 700 acres and contains over 200 organisations, employing 6,000 people across more than 60 nationalities.
We have been retained for over 25 years to act as planning consultant and deal with all development matters on behalf of the Harwell Campus Partnership, a public/private sector partnership between the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA), the
Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) and Brookfield.

Our most recent success has been to work with the Local Planning Authority to secure delivery of The Vaccines Manufacturing and Innovation Centre (VMIC), the UK’s first dedicated Vaccines Manufacturing and Innovation Centre. Through detailed consultation with the Vale of White Horse and the granting of Priority Planning Status, we obtained agreement to commence construction on this nationally significant facility last year, months before planning permission was granted, to assist with the UK’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Science Vale
Oxfordshire
A new primary school has been built by the development partnership, which opened early in September 2020, and a sale has been agreed for the development of a care home within the local centre. We are actively engaged with a local community group for the delivery of a community building, and with local businesses to sponsor ‘meantime uses’ while more detailed long-term plans for the local centre are developed.
Our professionals brought two Oxfordshire farming families together at Wantage to promote a strategic development scheme to deliver much needed housing to Science Vale. Having achieved a Local Plan allocation and an outline planning permission for a scheme including around 1,500 new homes, we appointed a development partner, St Modwen, to help the landowners bring forward an exemplar large-scale development now called Kingsgrove.
We have since overseen the delivery of high-quality infrastructure, including woodland areas and public open space.

Since 2018, we have also sold serviced residential development parcels totalling over 700 new homes to housebuilders who are delivering both private and affordable housing for the area, and we continue to act for the development partnership between the landowners and St Modwen in their long-term commitment to deliver an exemplar strategic development scheme in Oxfordshire.

Shortly after our instruction, as well as accelerating the letting of existing buildings on site through active asset management, we took an intrinsic role in informing the development of the park’s plans for speculative development, working alongside our charismatic and driven client lead. This process was also guided by the findings of the Silverstone Technology Cluster Report, commissioned by MEPC, which charted the evolution of high-tech engineering within a

Silverstone Park sits at the heart of the UK’s Motorsport Valley and is a recognised world leading innovation cluster for engineering and technology.
Our Oxford based professionals act as agents for MEPC, owners of Silverstone Park, which wraps around and is independent to the Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit. Our appointment coincided with our client’s vision to develop Silverstone Park as an internationally recognised technology location. The park totals circa 131 acres/53 hectares including built space of approximately 400,000 sq ft and capacity to become a 2m sq ft cluster. 258,000 sq ft of accommodation has recently completed

national contract
Despite the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the programme is now well advanced with over 25% of the projects now complete and the majority of the remainder at RIBA Stage 4 and 5. Our extensive experience, capacity and depth of resources have been significant factors in the successful delivery of this large nationwide refurbishment programme on a range of listed and historic buildings.
Our knowledge and track record in the heritage sector has enabled us to meet the challenges that these type of buildings present and the high standards the National Trust sets in terms of conservation, environmental and ecology principals for its extensive property portfolio.
Our building consultancy team in Oxford leads our national contract to procure and manage the repair and refurbishment of 65 residential properties across the Trust’s let estate, covering England and Northern Ireland over a three-year programme. Known as the Category 4&5 Programme, this is the first time the National Trust has let a national contract to an external consultant on such a scale and is a potential model for future procurement of external consultants.
Estate farmhouse renovation and letting
effectively marketed the property to obtain the best tenant and issued the Assured Shorthold Tenancy to the successful candidate.
The result of the renovations was an uplift in rental value from £16,800 to £31,800 per annum in addition to securing a suitable long-term tenant, which the client was very happy with. We continue to carry out the day-to-day management for the Trustees, including their portfolio of five properties, 105 acres of land and one public house.
For a retained management client, we have advised on the renovations of one of their farmhouses in order to maximise rental yields and profits. The property had not been updated in a number of years and as a consequence several aspects of the house needed regular repair. This ultimately reduced the possible rent that the property was able to achieve.
The works consisted of a new kitchen and bathroom, expansion of a bathroom, new windows and flooring, decoration throughout and external landscaping. We assisted with the design of the kitchen and bathroom, liaised with contractors and Trustees and
Arable land on the Blenheim Estate
Blenheim Estate is looking for tenants who share in the value of the estate’s land strategy to capture carbon, enhance natural capital and produce food whilst caring for the land using the very best farming techniques to ensure the area continues to thrive.
Our rural agency professionals are currently instructed to let approximately 1,238 acres (500 hectares) of arable land available in up to three lots on the Blenheim Estate.
The land is located within a four-mile radius of the historic market town of Woodstock in Oxfordshire, within and on the edge of the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. One block of land sits between the villages of Combe and Stonesfield, and another larger block (two lots) to the north of Woodstock and Wootton.

The stylish interiors of Mount House are complemented by private gardens with a patio for the ground floor apartments and a residents’ garden for the upper floors. All have secure, covered bike storage.
Mount House includes six contemporary apartments finished to a high standard in an Edwardian setting, prestigious Central North Oxford.
The property has been superbly renovated and extended by developer MPM Properties to produce luxurious one and two bedroom apartments, each with a unique character and spacious rooms.
Designed by noted Edwardian Architect Frank Mountain and built in 1912, its stone and render construction with the pan-tiled
Large residential investment fund
Our Oxford residential lettings team was instructed in July 2020 by a large residential fund to let and manage 113 properties, all of which were new build 1–3 bedroom homes. Since the instruction, we have let all of the available properties.
While some of the properties were located in Oxfordshire, others were further afield in locations such as Daventry, Aylesbury and Milton Keynes. The rents ranged from £600 pcm to £1,500 pcm.
